Remakes are no good to me..except for Dawn of the Dead. The original movies are from eras that no longer exist and should not be attempted to be recreated…I like the idea of prequels better.

“Carrie” modern day?? …eh doesn’t appeal to me.

I am very much looking forward to the walking dead finale. I concur with Dr. Rellik and Letjesusfuckyou, The Governor needs to die and our survivors need to take to the road. I’m tired of the Governor and the prison. One of the best episode thus far was when Rick, Carl and Michonne were on a run for supplies in their hometown. I want the zombies to be the focal point not the backdrop.

I thought the finale was very average. The guv’nah is still around even after slaughtering most of his people. Seriously, someone put a bullet in his head. The saga will now continue into next season and worse yet, it looks like more time at the prison. I agree with Nightwatcher, I want to see them hit the road again and survive the zombies. We did get a main character death which I was okay with. I won’t say who it was in case others haven’t seen. I had no connection with the character so it didn’t phase me any. Carl it seems is a sociopath now which appeared to be something they wanted to play up in the finale. I’m not sure why this was a focus. If I had my way, Carl would have been eaten long ago. I do hope the larger group leaves the jail next season or that we get to at least see them survive a winter. It looked to be getting cold in the finale. Winter would be a nice change to the survival guide. It’s been summer for three seasons. Would love to see them take a break from the whole idea that humans react poorly and turn crazy in an apocalyptic world (governor) and turn back to surviving hordes of zombies or a new environmental factor like winter survival. A long wait until next season but plenty of other gore to keep busy until then.

Of course you would like to have seen Carl eaten long ago! hahaha!! Definitely want to see more survival stuff next season, for a while it has felt like the walkers are no longer a big deal, the show has been more drama bullshit between the living than anything else. Slaughters are fun though.

Well I have finished the first season of “Bates Motel”. Overall it was good not great. I’m just not emotionally attached to many characters, therefore don’t care what happens. There were some twists and turns as the season progressed which pushed me to want to watch the next segment. Let me know what you think?

I finished up Bates Motel this week too. I’m not that into it. I’m also not attached to any of the characters and don’t care if any of them were eliminated including Norman(not that he is going anywhere). Norman’s plunge into madness seems to be in full swing by the end so that is a reason to watch next season I guess. On another note, I loved the Hannibal episode last night. That creepy ass girl under the beds was a little disturbing. I gave a quick peek under my bed last night before going to sleep.

I saw Evil Dead today. It was somewhat of a combo of the original 2 Evil Dead films in terms of plot and scenes. It wasn’t exactly the same by any means and I really liked the reason the group was out at the cabin. A better idea than the usual group of people out in the woods to party. It did have plenty of gore but fewer of the make you jump scenes which I thought there would be more based on the previews. The film had plenty of disturbing demon scenes though. It was definitely less campy than the original(s). Overall, I thought it was one of the better remakes I’ve seen in awhile. Go check it out at your nearest cinema.

Last night I just completed the second episode of “Hannibal”, this is a truly twisted show, I like it. At first glance, I was wondering how they could continue a series year in and year out with this plot, but last night my curiosity was answered. It appears this series will be similar to “Criminal Minds”, with a different nemesis in every episode and the Hannibal plot in the backdrop throughout. Can’t wait to continue on this sick voyage.

Saw the Evil Dead remake today…I did like the concept in this one and the build up and fist half were awesome! Great gore and uncomfortable sick scenes…I did not like how it ended. I don’t know, I wanted MORE. I wanted a more climactic death for the long-haired guy who was an important character. Also I was expecting it to get more outrageous, but it sort of plateaued towards the middle…Would have been really cool if the dead dog came to life, and all those dead cats came to life and attacked the main guy…I really thought that was going to happen…maybe they’ll be a sequel???

Is anyone out there obsessed with “The Killing”? If you are not familiar, the first two seasons centered around a single murder of Rosie Larson, a teenage girl. It truly is the best murder mystery I have ever watched. The season 3 premiere started last Sunday. Season 3 is about a serial killer that preys on teenage street walkers. I must say the 3rd season is much much darker than the first two seasons glad to say. If you have been infected with this show speak up.

Has anyone heard they are making a sequel to the 2009 Friday the 13th. It is in the works and set for 2014. At first I thought this was great news, but when I read on, it said that it is going to be another found footage movie. I puked in my mouth. Anyone have any thoughts?

    • Avatar of JakePlummer16
      October 25, 2013, 4:56 PM

I did read some stuff on this new sequel…very disappointing news. It seems that the production companies these days are trying to cash in on trends in horror…Personally I hate the “found footage” sub-genre. What makes horror great is the production, music, gore, and fantasy of the absurd kills. I always felt dreams were scarier than reality, and the best horror movies played out more like dreams in that they are different from reality. I wish someone with some serious cash would step up and make a a good old fashioned Friday the 13th sequel picking up where part 8 left off, with some kind of resurrection of Jason. To me the best horror films to come out in recent years were the “Hatchet” films…great, old-school, gory fun. I wish more producers had the balls to give money to guys like Adam Green and Eli Roth who seem to “get” horror more…Not excited about this new sequel.
